YOM HAATZMAUT 5764: ISRAEL INDEPENDENCE

Israel fills us with pride. Many of us can recall when there was neither
a flag to hoist nor a land to claim as our own. For others, Israel has
been a living, breathing reality, for we have grown up as she has. At
this time, all of us reflect on the meaning of Israel in our lives:

For the ingathering of our people from all corners of the world,

Dayeinu

For the rebuilding of the Jewish homeland and reclaiming the land of Eretz
Yisrael

Dayeinu

For absorbing the survivors of the Holocaust,

Dayeinu

For the strength and security Israel provides to Jews in need,

Dayeinu

For integrating the Jews from Europe, Africa, Asia, America, Ashkenazim
and Sefaradim,

Dayeinu

For the rejuvenation of art and poetry, music and dance, drama and
literature,

Dayeinu

For the growth of Jewish wisdom and knowledge, enlightening all of us in
God's ways,

Dayeinu

For creating hope for peace anew and illuminating the vision of a better
world,

Dayeinu

For enabling Torah once more to go forth from the Land of Zion and the
word of God from Jerusalem

Dayeinu

May our support for Israel at this time of her 56th anniversary be
boundless and overflowing with love.
