B'nai Emet ->Holidays-> Shavuot

Shavuotis a triple holiday: the Feast of Weeks (culmination of the 50 day counting ofthe Omer), celebrating the harvest season in Israel; and the anniversary of thegiving of the Ten Commandments to Moses and the Israelites at MountSinai.

On Shavuot we read from the Book of Ruth.

Shavuotis one of the three Jewish pilgrim holidays, where the Israelites would gatherin Jerusalem for celebration and prayer.
