B'nai Emet -> About our Synagogue-> Library
"A person entering a synagogue should feel welcome. A large component of that feeling should come from the library." So stated Donna, former B'nai Emet librarian, who recently retired after 32 years. B'nai Emet's Hellman library serves as a meeting room, a comfortable spot for reading or conversation, and a rich source of literature, reference, biography, history and nonfiction works. An excellent and well-used collection of children's books is housed in B'nai Emet's library. Started in the 1960s with a gift of books from Adath Jeshurun congregation, the B'nai Emet library collection has grown over the years, thanks to the generosity of B'nai Emet Women's League and many synagogue members. There are numerous ways to help the library continue to grow and serve the B'nai Emet community. B'nai Emet members have added significantly to the number of recent acquisitions to the library in past months. For further information about the library, contact Fran through the synagogue office, read our member reviews, and follow the library-related links on this page. If you cannot visit the library, contact the office to arrange pick-up and delivery of books to your home. B'nai Emet also has an active book club.
