Torah Explorers (aka Sunday School) - CLICK HERE for the 2008-2009 calendar

by Jeanne Kaufman

This year Torah Explorers curriculum is to learn the alef-bet through holidays and special Jewish experiences. We will also explore God with lessons of God’s Creations, God is One, In God’s Image, Thanking God, God’s Promise, God’s Gift of Shabbat, Talking to God and God’s World.  Learning blessings and writing their own blessings enable students to praise and appreciate God at their own level.

Our calendar is varied but is based upon this format.

  • One Sunday morning a month students and teacher – Jeanne Kaufman explore the alef-bet through songs, stories and rhyme. They create and play games, do wonderful craft projects, dance and play rhythm instruments.
  • One Sunday morning a month siblings, parents and extended family members join the Torah Explorers in craft projects, games, mitzvah projects, stories and sharing various family activities.
  • One Shabbat a month the students join with the B’nai Emet B'resheet program to observe Shabbat with other students and sing songs they’ve learned on the bimah for B’nai Emet congregants.
